Passengers will
be picked up from "The Salisbury" YMCA of Hong Kong (Kowloon Side)
or Queen's Pier (HongKong side) by coach, making the first stop
at Chunk Lam Shim Yuen which houses three of the largest "Precious
Buddha" Statues in Hong Kong. You proceed to the countryside
to "Tai Mo Shan" and continue to "Shek Kong" and the beautiful Fanling
Golf Course. Stop at the traditional rural market at Luen Wo, browse
among colourful stalls piled high with dried fish, herb and vegetable,
fresh fruit and flowers. Then you will head for the border, stopping
at Luk Keng. Nearby is a bird sanctuary where Chinese Pond Herons
and Night Herons nest and rear their chicken in a carefully protected
environment. Next you go to the Plover Cove Country Park, then to
Sam Mun Tsai fishing village to see how local fishing folk breed
fish in submerged cages. On the way back to Hong Kong, you will
pass through Tai Po and The Chinese University. Lunch is taken in
Shatin "Hong Kong Jockey Club" (Subject to change to Regal
Riverside Hotel on Horse Racing Day). Stop after Lunch at "Sha Tin"
for a look at this impressive new town and racing track.
